Sarah Blake
Chapman University Instructional Analyst
Orange, CA
My name is Sarah Blake, and I am pursuing a Master of Arts in Education (M.A.Ed.) with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction. As an Instructional Analyst at Chapman University, I assist faculty with technology to support teaching and learning. My team and I create, design, and facilitate workshops for faculty, staff, and students on academic technology topics. In addition, we keep and maintain our online knowledge base. I directly support faculty in course development and instructional design needs for the Learning Management System, rich media, web-based assessment tools, and distance collaboration. I conduct one-on-one consultation with faculty on integrating educational technology tools into classroom activities to create active learning environments and address the needs of diverse learners. I also support faculty in creating and designing various instructional materials and discuss various strategies while incorporating best practices and sound andragogy.
I am looking forward to expanding my career in higher education. I want to gain further knowledge in designing accessible instructional materials and creating an engaging classroom environment while utilizing diverse theories and strategies. My educational passion is active learning, collaboration, reflective learning, and universal design while integrating technology for the adult learners' experience. I hope my learners find the value in using educational technology tools and find immediate applications.
