This Fall, the California Higher Education system returned in large part to in-person instruction on their campuses. After more than a year of remote instruction, new teaching modalities, such as HyFlex were introduced to help bridge the needed accommodations for international students and students who needed to quarantine, or students that didn’t feel safe to return to the classroom.
To understand how the CA Higher Ed systems were planning for the uncertainty of the Fall 2021 semester/term, the DET/CHE Board conducted a survey to assess what teaching modalities would be incorporated and what new instructional technologies and training would be implemented. The survey results will be presented during this session. Also hear from the University of San Francisco’s (USF) approach to planning and implementing new teaching modalities, i.e. HyFlex, and what support provisions were planned for and provided.
