Description
The onset of the pandemic took everyone by storm at LBCC - in particular our Online Learning and IITS services. One area in particular that has transformed during this time is our student facing Student Technology Help Desk, which is staffed by LBCC students. When our campus closed and many areas had to let their student employees go, we were able to maintain employment for our student team members in a remote setting, but more importantly, they have flourished in this arena. Support provided by our student team has been instrumental in onboarding new technologies and LBCC needed to support online learning, in addition to college wide efforts to come back to campus. Our student team members have been a true nucleus in the success of our college during this time.

Outcomes
  • Learn about creative ways to maintain student facing technology support during this transitional time.
  • Consider the importance of student employment as it benefits student success & equity.
  • Takeaway of the benefits and beauty of being flexible and creative in stressful times.
