DescriptionAs higher education leadership planned to resume in-person classes in fall 2021, interest in hybrid and flexible instruction spiked. As classrooms were outfitted with technology to support simultaneous remote and on-campus student participation, educational technologists and faculty developers wondered how to support faculty in recognizing the possibilities and limitations. In this panel, we will share how we fostered community for instructors eager to understand flexible teaching principles. We will discuss strategies for facilitating critical conversations about flexible teaching and take a futures-facing perspective on how faculty can continue to be galvanized to have sustained dialogue about the future of teaching with technology.
Outcomes- Participants will be able to explain how faculty are identifying and developing XR content for teaching and learning.
- Participants will be able to list strategies for evaluating the educational effectiveness of XR technologies.
- Participants will be able to describe examples of XR implementation at San Diego State University.
